Golden Gap Year

I’m Victoria, a retired registered nurse who specialized in surgery for over 20 years. I’m a divorced mom of 2 and grandmother to a darling boy with multiple disabilities who I adore. I found myself going through a rather traumatic series of events that pushed me, often unwillingly, into new realizations about myself and the uncertainties of life. All is impermanent, I came to realize, and as the Buddha said, “Attachment is the cause of all suffering.” Life events have required me to restructure every single aspect of my existence in order to not simply survive, but thrive. Kind of a big deal. I finally surrendered the struggle, (for the most part- lol,) and decided to ‘Trust the Process’. I opted for reframing my losses as newfound freedoms, and chose to embrace and explore the potential upside rather than spend my ever-shrinking time on this Earth grieving and feeling victimized. As they say, “It’s not what happens to you but how you respond to it that matters.” My response? Selling my house, purging my stuff, putting the rest in storage, and setting out on a great adventure around the world! Please join me! It does get lonely out here sometimes. I would love for you to travel alongside and hope that you might be inspired to take a gap year of your own!
